'' Do- you have any information on the sta=-ilitv of C-57 We have been ~aking a solution of this ~aterial in 95-per cent alcohol in a concentration of 1 mg/:nl. The solution is originally light-bro\m in color, but after a day or two it becomes blueish, as if it contained methylene blue. Currently we are prepari~g t~e solution fresh on the morning it is to be used. We have now given as much as 3 mg of :-5 per 79 kg. of body weight without o:bserving any definite subjective effects. There is a su~gestion (subject to proper controls) that the following may be occurring: drop in diastolic blood pressure, increase in pulse rate, and elevation in body temperature. It is already apparent C-5 that o.r ally will be far less po~ent than C-9 • 1 have not yet received the additional supply o.f K-302, or of the crude material.
