This page is a digital representation of information displayed on a black background. On the left, a stylized image of a bank vault door with a blue glow is visible, featuring multiple spinning dials and levers. To the right of the vault, in prominent white, stylized script, is the text "THE BLACK VAULT". Below this, several lines of white text explain that the document originates from "The Black Vault," an online database of declassified government documents, specifically the "MKULTRA/Mind Control Collection," comprising over 20,000 CIA declassified pages. A URL, highlighted in yellow, is provided for accessing the collection online.
The document is a typed memorandum with several handwritten annotations. There are handwritten additions in the upper right corner that appear to be an alphanumeric code and a date, "A/B, 7, 4/2 JUL 28 1952". There are also handwritten "G" markings in the right margin at two different points, and an "A" and "G" below the main body of text. Significant portions of the document are obscured by black redactions, particularly in the header and along the right side of the text, obscuring names, a department name, and parts of sentences in the body of the text. The document includes a "SUBJECT:" field with "Project ARTICHOKE" filled in, and a "cc:" field with "Chiet" visible, followed by a redaction. The term "Attachment." is also visible at the bottom left.
