The page features a political cartoon depicting a group of figures. One figure, drawn as a caricatured pig wearing a military-style uniform and glasses, is hunched over, appearing defeated or submissive. Several other figures, drawn with human features, are looking at or interacting with the pig figure. Two figures stand somewhat apart, one appearing to be a young woman in a striped dress and the other a man in a suit. The cartoon is accompanied by two captions: "The years of TOM are over" and "THE PANTHERS KNOW WHO THE TOMS AND THE YIDS ARE!". There is also a handwritten number "248" in the bottom right corner. The image itself appears to be a scan of a physical document, with some degradation and speckling of the paper visible. There are no photographs of individuals or surveillance-specific visual elements like maps, logs, or stamps visible. The document is a heavily redacted FBI memorandum. It contains official stamps, dates, and routing codes along with handwritten notations. There are no photographs or visual evidence of surveillance methods. The majority of the content is typed text, but there are several redacted sections. The document appears to be an internal report related to counterintelligence operations. AUTHORITIES. The memorandum is addressed to the Director of the FBI from the SAC (Special Agent in Charge) Chicago office. Visible elements include official letterhead for the United States Government, indicating it's a memorandum. There are handwritten notations and official stamps, including routing codes and what appears to be a date. The subject line clearly identifies the focus on "COUNTERINTELLIGENCE PROGRAM BLACK NATIONALIST - HATE GROUPS RACIAL INTELLIGENCE (BLACK PANTHER PARTY) (BPP)". The text details a review and analysis of recent events and suggests further counterintelligence recommendations. There are no photographs or sketches of individuals or facilities. The document does not contain evidence of surveillance methods, informant communications, or targeting directives beyond the written content of the memo. The top section contains typed fields for origin, date and time, and recipient, but includes a handwritten annotation above "VIA TELE!" and a stamp indicating "ENCIPHERED" with a handwritten date of "JAN 2 1969". There are several handwritten names in a list on the right side of the page, possibly indicating recipients or personnel involved. A large black redaction covers a significant portion of the middle section. Below this, the typed form continues with information likely related to law enforcement procedures, and a handwritten note is visible on the right side. The bottom section shows a "TELE TYPED" stamp and a series of handwritten numbers and characters. The document is a memo originating from the FBI's Boston field office, dated January 22, 1969. It concerns the "COINTELPRO | BLACK NATIONALIST - HATE GROUPS | RACIAL INTELLIGENCE (CHRISTOPHER CAR/IMD)" program. The text block describes a news item from United Press International (UPI) regarding Christopher Caranbo and students who barricaded themselves at a university. Significantly, there is a large, black redaction covering a portion of the text on the right side of the document. At the bottom of the page, a form-like section contains official stamps. One stamp reads "MAILED 20 JAN 29 1969" with "COMM-FBI" below it, indicating the date it was processed. Another section of this form lists various individuals or roles, with checkboxes, though most are blank. There are also handwritten notations and what appear to be routing codes, including "TJD:ekw (5)". Finally, a stamp appears to note "MAIL ROOM | TELETYPE UNIT" with some handwritten numbers, and a final handwritten number "252" is visible on the bottom right. There are no photographs or clear visual evidence of surveillance methods on this page. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ . _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ established sources. 1. . (UPI) - It was a lesson well learned for Christopher Carambo: never underestimate the pow- er of a woman - especially - when the woman is your own mother. Carambo was one of 65 black students at Brandeis University who for eight days have barricaded themselves in the school's communications center at Ford Hall and re- fused to come out. They are protesting alleged racist polt- cies. But Carambo's mother marched up to the barricaded building Tuesday afternoon, determined to get her son back. She pounded on the door of the three story brick building with her umbrella and then tried to climb in a window. No luck. Finally in desperation and anger she called out. "Christo- pher Carambo, you come out of there. Come out! I haven't seen my son in a week. I don't believe in black power." Carambo did not come out, but one of the other black students apparently relented, because soon the door opened and Mrs. Carambo went in- side. She reappeared a few min- utes later -- with her son.
