The situation in regard to [REDACTED] a faculty member at Arizona State University (ASU) in suburban Tempe, which is commented upon under Roman Numeral III below, may present additional potential for action in this program. However, the most recent comments regarding his status with ASU is that he has agreed to take a one- year sabbatical. In the event that his case becomes a cause celebre for the New Left or the Socialist Workers Party on the ASU campus in the near future, it will be evaluated for possible counterintelligence action. Key visual elements include official letterhead, handwritten annotations indicating routing and file numbers (e.g., "REC-78," "-447698-35-19"), and several official stamps, including "Bureau" and "Phoenix." There are also some smudged or redacted areas, particularly on the left side and near the bottom, suggesting sensitive information. The document includes typed sections detailing potential and pending counterintelligence actions, as well as a confirmation of "no tangible results to report." Notably, there are no photographs or diagrams of individuals or events present on this page. This declassified FBI document is a memorandum from the Phoenix field office dated September 29, 1970.
