The printed text is centered on the page and is in all capital letters, with a bold, sans-serif font. There are no photographs, stamps, annotations, redactions, or other visual elements aside from the printed text and the incidental scan artifacts. The text itself is a standard notice that the best available copies are included, and any blurriness or inconsistencies are due to the condition of the originals.
The image is a scanned document with a significant amount of handwritten annotations and markings overlaying the typed text. These include routing codes, agent initials, and checkboxes indicating communication methods like "MAIL ROOM" and "TELETYPE UNIT." Several areas of the document are heavily redacted, obscuring specific information. The overall impression is one of internal FBI communication, with official stamps, numbered designations, and a date indicating its origin. following letter sent on stationery which cannot be identified with the Bureau: "Better Business Bureau New York City "Gentlemen: "I would like to direct your attention to a situation involving some businessmen in New York City who have inadvertently been making contributions to a Marxist organization. "This letter will be unsigned because I am a former member of the Socialist Workers Party and still have a few acquaintances in the organization. The Socialist Workers Party is on the Attorney General's list and they are generally known as 'Trotskyists', following the line of Trotsky rather than Stalin in their support of the Russian Revolution. "Before I saw the light and broke with the Party, each year in the fall, I helped prepare for the December bazaar, the big money-raising event of the year. Various members contributed odds and ends, but the items of value came from solicitation of merchants. The gimmick used was to make solicitations under the auspices of the New York School for Social Science. Forms would be prepared on the above letterhead, introducing the bearer as someone soliciting contributions to support the School. "Now the New York School for Social Science is listed in the telephone book at the address of 116 University Place, New York City, which is also the headquarters of the Socialist Workers Party, but in all my years in the Party, I never knew this 'school' to function except as a device to conceal the Party in collecting for the annual bazaar. Also, any classes held at 116 University Place are strictly to promote the revolutionary cause. "In a recent conversation, I learned that once again in 1962, the New York School for Social Science held its bazaar in December, and had profited on its sale of goods solicited from merchants. 2 NY 100-146608 "I think it is unfair for this solicitation under false pretenses and perhaps you may wish to warn your members before the solicitation of 1963, that the New York School for Social Science is a phony front for the Socialist Workers Party. This is a scanned image of a declassified FBI memorandum from 1963. The document appears to be typed, with some handwritten annotations and official stamps. There is a significant redaction in the middle of the page, obscuring a portion of the text. Additionally, there are stamps in the margins, including "DELETED COPY FOR RELEASE TO..." and what appears to be a routing or filing stamp with dates. The overall impression is of a classified intelligence document, possibly related to surveillance or disruption activities, with notations and handling marks indicating its official use.

This page is a typescript document, likely a redacted letter or report, with no photographs, handwritten annotations, or explicit visual evidence of surveillance methods. It features several blurry black dots, possibly ink blots or smudges, and a faint, almost indiscernible oval stamp towards the top right. The document is page-numbered "2" at the bottom center. There are no visible forms, wiretap logs, schedules, or targeting directives. The content itself is a report regarding activity associated with the "New York School for Social Science" and the "Socialist Workers Party."
The document is a scanned black and white page from a declassified FBI file. It contains typed text that appears to be a communication or report. There are also three dark circular holes punched near the top and some smudged markings of indeterminate origin. The text is somewhat faded and speckled with small black dots, typical of aged documents. There is a page number, "- 3 -", at the bottom center of the page. There are no photographs or handwritten annotations visible.

This declassified FBI document is a communication log, containing a typed message alongside handwritten annotations and official stamps. Redacted sections obscure specific names and potentially sensitive information. The document's visual elements include official stamps like "MAILED 31" and "JAN 11 1963," indicating its date and processing. Handwritten additions, such as the names and numbers in the "NOTE ON YELLOW" section and the shorthand notations, suggest manual data entry and internal routing. The overall impression is one of an organized system for distributing and tracking sensitive information related to internal security programs.
This document is a heavily redacted FBI memorandum, likely an internal communication regarding surveillance of the Socialist Workers Party's "Internal Security - Disruption Program." Large black redactions obscure individuals' names and specific operational details. Handwritten marginalia include a signature and what appear to be initials and numerical codes, possibly indicating review or approval. Official stamps are not clearly visible, but the document format suggests a formal FBI report. There is no photographic evidence, surveillance logs, or explicit targeting directives visible; the visual elements are primarily textual content and redactions, implying a focus on reporting and administrative processes rather than overt operational depictions.
Angeles letter 8/9/62. On 8/9/62 copies of an anonymous letter, concerning the official recognition afforded the Young Socialist Alliance (YSA) on the campus of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), were mailed to the Chancellor and the Regents of UCLA; this letter protested UCLA's allowing the YSA on the University campus. To date, no reaction to the above-indicated letter has been reported; however, the UCLA campus publication, the "Daily Bruin" for 10/26/62, carried an editorial entitled "Free Speech?", which has some bearing on the possible attitude of UCLA regarding the existence and activities of questionable organizations on the University campus. This editorial is quoted as follows: "FREE SPEECH? "RICHARD M. NIXON, Republican candidate for governor, has declared he would, if elected, issue an order banning appearances of suspected subversives at tax-supported institutions." "President KERR, when asked about NIXON's statement, replied, 'the University is an open forum. The Regents are set up independently under the constitution. We will, of course, give careful consideration to any executive order, but we will make our own decisions.' (REGISTERED) REC 32 1 = Los Angeles 100-4-36291 460 JCO: nlb (3) [ILLEGIBLE] 203.
