The document is a typed memorandum from the FBI, dated October 15, 1964, concerning counterintelligence program activities related to "hate groups" in the Baltimore area. There are no photographs of individuals or facilities. However, there are several handwritten annotations. A number, "157-9-3-1", is written in the lower right quadrant, likely a case or file number. Adjacent to it, "MCT" and "REC" appear, possibly denoting sections or classifications. There are also handwritten notations of numbers and a signature, suggesting internal routing or review. The document format indicates it's a standard FBI memorandum with fields for "TO," "FROM," "SUBJECT," and "DATE." While the text discusses surveillance and intelligence gathering, the visual elements primarily consist of the typed text and ancillary handwritten notes, all contributing to the document's official and operational nature.
The visually dominant element on this page is text, presenting a declassified FBI document with a page number indicating "-2-" and a handwritten "2" in the bottom right corner, suggesting it's part of a larger document. There are several dark circular ink marks near the top of the page, which appear to be bullet holes or ink stains, and some faint smudges and dots throughout. The document itself contains typed text on a white background with a distressed texture, and a vertical column of dense, dark marks on the far right edge, resembling a barcode or a coded entry. No photographs, handwritten notes, or official stamps are visible.

The document is a memorandum from the FBI's Baltimore Field Office to the Director. It primarily consists of typed text, with some handwritten annotations and official stamps. A notable feature is the presence of several black redactions, obscuring specific names and possibly other sensitive information. There are also handwritten notes in the margins, including a signature-like mark and what appears to be a routing code or file number ("157-9-3-3"). A date stamp "APR 2 1965" is visible, as well as a stamp that reads "REC 16". The document appears to be an official government form, indicated by the header "UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT Memorandum." There are no photographs or visual depictions of individuals, facilities, or events present on this page. It is felt that these interviews will disrupt the Klan in Delaware and may help neutralize Klavern Number 3, which is presently the only active Klavern in Delaware. : The Baltimore Office has initiated a program of interviewing selected members of Baltimore Klaverns primarily for the purpose of obtaining informant coverage. In these interviews, the Agents definitely receive the impression from : statements made by persons interviewed that these individuals feel that the FBI is tapping their telephones and is keeping them under constant surveillance. It is felt that a continued program of interviewing members of the Klan will help immobilize the more timid individuals associated with the Klan. 2. This page is a government memorandum with official stamps and handwritten annotations. The top of the page includes the "UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT" header and a "Memorandum" title. There's a handwritten "50" in the upper left, a redacted area blocking what appears to be text, and a handwritten date "10/4/65." Two official stamps are visible on the right side of the document: a rectangular stamp with "REC. 64" and "OCT 6 1965," and a handwritten number "157-9-3-5" above it. Additional handwritten marginalia are present, including a circle with lines that may indicate a route or target, and initials "FJW:mk" in the lower left, with a numerical notation "(5)" below. The overall impression is of an administrative document detailing intelligence operations, with visual cues suggesting tracking, logging, and internal routing.
This is a black and white scanned image of a United States Government memorandum. The document is predominantly text-based, with a printed header and body. There are several handwritten annotations and markings throughout the document, including what appear to be initials, check marks, and numerical designations.
